Kruger Child Development Programme

This combined project consists of three community volunteer programmes, all of which provide you with the opportunity to help with the development and education of children in local communities. After receiving 3 days theoretical training you will feel fully prepared to take on the challenging task ahead of you. All of the projects are rewarding and worthwhile and allow you to make a real difference to the communities you are involved with.

Volunteer Role

This project is a combination of 3 community volunteer projects, all of which are extremely interesting and rewarding. Your time will be divided between these programmes and so you will have the opportunity to experience a variety of projects during your time in Africa. If you do find that there is one programme in particular you are enjoying and wish to focus more time on, this can be arranged for you with your coordinators.

Your trainers for all of the programmes are highly qualified and experienced and we are sure that you will receive a high standard of training and have a life changing experience. Your three programmes are as follows:

START Project, Development of Early Motor Skills: The focus of the project is on holistic remedies and includes all areas of therapy. The project is specifically designed for participants who want to help children in the rural community with early motor skills development.
Rural Community School Feeding and Sports Education Project: The main aim of your programme is to assist in introducing sport and feeding programmes into rural community schools and to encourage pupil participation in school sports.
Roots and Shoots Project: The intention of the programme is to find an effective route to sustainable environmental practices by helping to inspire children with the belief that they can make a difference.

Project Location

The programmes are located just outside South Africa’s famous Kruger National Park.

Accommodation and Meals

During the course your accommodation will be in rustic wilderness camp in the Kruger National Park away from the normal camps. The tents can accommodate 2 people at a time and have single beds with duvets, linen and cupboards. You will be provided with three meals a day.
