Dominican Republic Disabled Adults and Children

This volunteer programme is ideally suited to volunteers whom are interested in helping others of all ages, who are physically disabled. The need for volunteer assistance is high and with volunteering being a relatively new concept in the Dominican Republic, all volunteers are greatly received.

Volunteer Role
On this Dominican Republic volunteer placement, the adults and children who need voluntary assistance are separated into different homes. The disabled adults live in a group-home atmosphere and conduct activities during the day, which include painting, carpentry and cooking. Children do not live in the group home but are supported in a school, in which dynamic teaching methods help them develop and grow in a loving environment.

A volunteer's typical day includes:

Aiding in the adult workshops in the morning
Helping in the children's classroom
After school activities (crafts and homework help) in the afternoons

Programme Overview

Duration & Price: 4 weeks volunteer £859 (subject to language level)
4 weeks language tuition followed by 4 wks volunteering £1799

How to book & pay:
Pay £195 deposit to book. Balance due 12 weeks prior to departure.
