Lion Breeding and Conservation Zimbabwe
The rare opportunity to walk and work with lions in this exclusive private game reserve. Get involved in the research of lion behaviour and work with us on the world’s only programme for their release into the wild.
Volunteer Role
During your placement, you will also have the opportunity to work with orphaned elephants, assist with the wildlife management and boundary patrols of the reserve, take a tour down to Victoria Falls and also take part in a local community project with African orphans if you wish.
During your spare time, you will have the opportunity to take part in a range of activities and explore the stunning area of the Zimbabwe Midlands.
Project LocationThe Lion Breeding Centre is situated just 10km from Gweru town centre, in the heart of the stunning Zimbabwe Midlands.
Accommodation
During your placement, you will be staying in a very comfortable twin or triple room thatched accommodation at the main reserve camp. Your lodge is situated next to a beautiful dam, and the camp has modern facilities including internet access, satellite TV and a swimming pool. You will have separate shower & toilet facilities to the rest of the camp, which are located adjacent to the sleeping area.
Please note that your rooms will be cleaned daily by the housekeeping staff, and free use of the laundry service is available to all volunteers.
