Gap Year Brochure

Travel to Malaysia is an excellent gap year option – especially if you’re planning a travel to Southeast Asia on a round the world ticket. A great way to travel to Malaysia is by fitting it in to your itinerary either before or after you’ve visited Thailand. Many gap year travellers visiting this part of the world by-pass travelling in Malaysia – and they really miss out. There’s so much to see and do if you travel to Malaysia – pristine tropical beaches, the rainforests of Borneo and the lush Cameron Highlands to name just three.

Real Gap has several excellent Malaysia gap year travel programmes, both on the mainland and on Borneo. If you’d like voluntary work abroad on a wildlife conservation project when you’re travelling in Malaysia there are some real ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ programmes you can get involved with. For example you could travel to Malaysia as a Malaysia volunteer and work on an orang-utan conservation project in Borneo, fight to save the green turtle in the stunning Perhentian Islands or even work as a zoo assistant in Kuala Lumpur!
