Malaysia offers visitors some amazing contrasts – the city of Kuala Lumpur is a hi-tech, fast-growing modern city while in the countryside there are the world’s oldest rainforests. Malaysia has a vast abundance of wildlife and jungle to explore. Stunning beauty surrounds the peninsular and Borneo Malaysia – awe-inspiring mountains and perfect deserted beaches.
This is a fantastic place to travel through and experience. There are so many cultures packed together in one country… so much to explore.
Climate
Temperatures in Malaysia constantly hover around 30 degrees (22 in highland areas), humidity is high all year round. The Peninsula's west coast experiences some downpours during the months of April and May. The ideal time to visit is between April and October.
Free Time
Your day will start at 8am and finish at 5pm. Your evenings and weekends are free so you will have plenty of time to explore Malaysia.
The zoos are within easy travelling distance from various destinations such as Penang, Cameron Highlands, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur so plenty of travelling is possible.
Getting There
You will need to arrange your flights to Kuala Lumpur airport.
You are met at Kuala Lumpur airport and then have a welcome dinner with other volunteers and your supervisors. You’ll have time to explore the city, and then it’s off to the zoo.
