Where do Malaysia Zoo volunteers stay?
The 2 different zoo options have different styles of accommodation. At Taiping Zoo, volunteers stay in a standard hotel room with en suite bathroom. At Zoo Negara, Kuala Lumpur, volunteers live in a 3-bedroom house situated in the zoo grounds.
What will the weather be like?
Malaysia enjoys a tropical climate and an average temperature of 25C - 30C. The monsoon starts in November and generally lasts until February.
Currency in Malaysia
The Malaysian currency is Ringgits (RM), which consists of 100 sen.

Do I need a visa for this project?
You will receive a 60 or 90 day tourist visa on arrival.
What is the food like?
The food will vary from Western style to Malay and Chinese cuisine.
What are the bathrooms/toilets like?
Your bathroom facilities on the Zoo Volunteer Programme will be western style bathrooms.
What is the time difference?
Malaysia is 8 hours ahead of the UK.

What vaccinations do I need?
