Martial Arts Academy China
This Kung Fu Academy offers one of the best environments in the world to learn more about this historic martial art. Based in the mountainous region of Fujian Province, South East China, you will study directly from some of the best Shaolin trained Masters found in China.
Training full time, students of all abilities are welcomed to go and learn a variety of different forms of Wushu. The serenity of the academy and the National Park surrounding it provides students with the perfect state of mind to develop a true understanding of Chinese Kung Fu.
Martial Arts ProgrammeAt the academy you can specify which form of Kung Fu you would like to learn or improve. The amount you learn will be dependent upon your current level of skills and how long you wish to attend the academy for. Below is a typical training plan for a 1-3 month programme:
- Theory and history of Shaolin Kung Fu
- Flexibility training
- Introduction to Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Sanda (kickboxing) and 1 to 6 Shaolin fist forms
- Basic punching and kicking
- Low-level weapons training i.e. with staff, sword or whip
- Mandarin lessons
Academy students have the opportunity to learn hard Qi Gong (conditioning of the body for fighting). For students who are studying for 1-3 months, they should be able to cut a brick in two using their bare hands!

Accommodation and Meals
All accommodation is at the academy. Students stay in shared rooms with access to shared facilities such as showers, bathrooms and Western-style toilets. Typically, rooms accommodate 2 people. The rooms are fairly basic, with 2 single beds and a simple closet for personal possessions.
All meals are taken at the academy and are prepared by the academy cooks. Meals are made in local styles and with local produce. Common ingredients include rice, vegetables and chicken. Various different diets can be catered for.
