Why volunteer with animals?
The South Africa Monkey Centre relies on volunteers to bring in income so that the work can continue - there is no government support offered to this project. You will provide necessary help to care for the ever-increasing number of animals and keep the costs of the project down.
Where is the volunteer programme?
The Monkey Rehabilitation Project is one of our South Africa volunteer projects. It is located near the Drakensburg Mountains, approximately 5 hours North of Johannesburg.
Where will I stay?
You will be staying in dorm-style huts with outside showers and toilets. You can also sleep under the stars if you want a real back to basics experience.
What can I do in my spare time?
There are loads of extras you can do in your spare time including a three-day ecology course, excursions, a safari, elephant rides and a visit to a health spa.
