Mozambique Community Development
|
The Mozambique Community Development programme offers a combination of activities, providing you with the opportunity to take part in vital community support within rural African villages and a sports development scheme with the local children.
Volunteer RoleAs a volunteer on this project, you will take part in a variety of areas such as craft workshops, cookery lessons, HIV and AIDS workshops, teaching English and general community development work. You will also spend time playing with the local kids on the soccer project, developing their skills and organising tournaments, whilst also gaining an invaluable insight into the everyday lives of local Mozambique communities of Africa. During your free time you will also be able to relax and enjoy Mozambique's optional excursions including Open Water PADI certificate.
As a volunteer on the Mozambique Community Development Programme, you can get involved in the following:

- Vilanculos Community Project
- Local Soccer Project
Project LocationThe coastal town of Vilanculos, Mozambique, a short boat ride from the World Heritage Site Bazaruto Archipelago.
Accommodation and MealsAccommodation is rustic yet very comfortable thatched bungalows, located just 100m from the beach. Volunteers stay in triple rooms sharing with up to two other volunteers. Full access to a kitchen, lounge / dining area and a swimming pool decking area.
You'll be provided with three meals a day, occassionally at weekends you'll need to cook your own meals with ingredients that will be provided.
