This itinerary is to be used as a guideline only as daily itineraries may change, depending on the needs of the project.
This is a new programme, developed in early 2008. Therefore, we must advise you to be flexible whilst on your project and aware that it will continue to evolve whilst you are volunteering. You should arrive with an open mind and be prepared to implement new structures, with a creative attitude. Please be prepared to take part in activities, which may vary from your itinerary, but which nevertheless help to develop the local community.
We will try to rotate volunteers so that everyone experiences the rural clinic for 1 or 2 weeks during your time on the programme, depending on the specific requirements of the clinics at the time and your personal experience and profile. The rural clinics are small and will thus cater for just one or two volunteers at a time. Therefore, we will strive to allow all volunteers to experience the clinic work for at least one week, but this cannot be guaranteed.
