Real Gap's Namibia Highlights

Namibia is a land of contrasts and clear colours, it combines warm landscapes, desert, sea and expanse in a way no other country can. It is the oldest desert on earth with it's own unique flora and fauna. Millions of years ago the Orange River washed diamonds into the sea, the currents, waves and the wind buried them in the sand dunes of the Namib! Namibia's very own source of natural wealth.

Windhoek
A modern city, with an architectural style influenced by the German colonial era, and the influence of the German culture is still evident. There are many historical monuments, museums and important buildings to visit in Windhoek. While in Windhoek set aside some time to help animals on the Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary project that is funded by Angelina Jolie.

Map of Namibia

Caprivi
Found in NE Namibia, an area of lush wetland, there are high levels of rainfall here and numerous rivers running through. Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe and Chobe National Park in Botswana, both popular tourist destinations in the north, are now easily accessible from Caprivi. You could spend 6 weeks on the Namibia Bush and Conservation Project, a course that combines wildlife, conservation, game drives, walks, education and fun!

The Noahs Ark Wildlife Conservation Namibia is one of our most popular animal volunteer projects; you too could help to care for orphaned and injured animals such as lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog, to meerkat and baboons whilst staying in the beautiful desert land of Namibia.

Do you know the difference between African and Indian elephants? Are Namibia Desert elephants different from normal African elephants? You could find out while you help with the ongoing voluntary conservation on our Desert Elephant Conservation Namibia.
