Gap Year Nepal

Visit one of the world’s most scenic and beautiful countries!
A gap year in Nepal is also an excellent choice if you’re craving some action and adventure on your year out. Most people taking a gap year in Nepal go trekking at some point in either the Annapurna or Himalaya mountain ranges. Trekking on a Nepal gap year is by far the most exhilarating way to enjoy Nepal’s incredible scenery, it's easy to arrange and you don’t need to have any previous experience. Other highlights of a gap year in Nepal include the picturesque and fascinating capital Kathmandu, a safari at Royal Chitwan National Park and the idyllic lake-side town of Pokhara.

An excellent Nepal gap year idea is to take part in a Nepal volunteer project. Real Gap has several extremely worthwhile volunteer programmes. Travellers could help teach English to underprivileged children or help build a childrens centre.

Tip... our Nepal expedition programme is quite popular, it combines trekking and volunteering!

Nepal Everest Basecamp Expedition

Make the trek of a lifetime to the Everest Base Camp and push yourself to your physical limits. Follow it with a Nepalese community project and a jungle safari - experiences you'll never forget!

Nepal Community Volunteers

Teach at a school, an orphanage or in a monastery, work on a medical project or help with building and construction work. Jungle safaris, elephant rides and dance lessons will teach you about Nepal, too.

Nepal Construction Volunteer

Help with the construction of a new children’s centre, and come away feeling you’ve made a worthwhile contribution. Learn new skills or practise your old ones – but what really counts is enthusiasm and a positive attitude.

Everest

This challenging and rugged adventure, with plenty of time for sensible acclimatisation, follows the classic route to the Base Camp of Mount Everest and Kala Patar.
