Travel Nepal

Travel to Nepal is a truly exciting gap year option. If you travel to Nepal you’ll be visiting one the most beautiful countries on earth – described by some as the ‘roof of the world.’

Trekking is the best way to explore the beautiful landscapes when you’re travelling in Nepal. The two main regions for trekking if you travel to Nepal are the Annapurna mountain range and the Himalayas (where braver Nepal gap year travellers head to Everest base camp). If trekking really isn’t your thing, there’s plenty more to travelling in Nepal than mountain-walking.

The picturesque cities of Kathmandu and Pokhara are great to explore and an absolutely unmissable experience is a journey through Royal Chitwan National Park on the back of an elephant.

Tip... if you’d like to volunteer in Nepal when you’re travelling it’s possible to teach English in local schools.

Nepal Everest Basecamp Expedition

Make the trek of a lifetime to the Everest Base Camp and push yourself to your physical limits. Follow it with a Nepalese community project and a jungle safari - experiences you'll never forget!

Nepal Community Volunteers

Teach at a school, an orphanage or in a monastery, work on a medical project or help with building and construction work. Jungle safaris, elephant rides and dance lessons will teach you about Nepal, too.

Nepal Construction Volunteer

Help with the construction of a new children’s centre, and come away feeling you’ve made a worthwhile contribution. Learn new skills or practise your old ones – but what really counts is enthusiasm and a positive attitude.

Everest

This challenging and rugged adventure, with plenty of time for sensible acclimatisation, follows the classic route to the Base Camp of Mount Everest and Kala Patar.
