Volunteer Age Restrictions
The minimum age is 18 years. Maximum age is dependant on participants’ health.

Programme Requirements
All volunteers are expected to be fit and in good health. There will be some lifting involved. Experience in building work is not necessary however skills from the trade would be useful. Most importantly we require that all participants have a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

Orientation
Before your placement starts, you will be given a 4-day orientation programme where you will be introduced to the Nepalese culture, language and food.

Sample Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and welcome
Day 2: Language training and sightseeing
Day 3: Language training, sightseeing and visit to the construction site
Day 4: Visit to construction site and time for group interaction
Day 5: Start of the placement programme

Project Support
Throughout your stay in Nepal you will have the support and guidance of the project leaders and team. They will provide you with competent field support and assistance and help you with any questions or support you may need during your stay.

The team will be there for you to contact each day and a meeting will also be scheduled for you early on in your placement to give you an extra opportunity to network and socialise with the other volunteers and students in Nepal.

In addition, we will provide you with a 24 hour emergency contact number before you depart, so that you can contact one of our UK staff at any time should you need to.

Please note: Most village families in Nepal don’t have a flushing toilet and use water rather than toilet paper, however it is fine for you to take toilet paper with you. A flush toilet can be arranged but please inform us upon booking so we can organise this for you.
