Programme Orientation
At the start of your programme you will receive an in-depth local orientation, to go alongside your pre-departure handbook. This orientation will be conducted by our local programme coordinator and will cover the following areas:
- Programme Structure: what to expect during the programme
- Local Team: which teams you will be placed with, when training takes place etc
- Culture and behaviour: you will be familiarised with the cultural norms of New Zealand and what your expected behaviour will be whilst on and off the programme
- Safety: our coordinator will tell you how to keep yourself and your valuables safe whilst in New Zealand. This will include areas to avoid, what to do in an emergency, behaviour at nighttime and more.
Accommodation and Meals
All players are accommodated in a purpose-built lodge. Rooms are on a twin-share basis, with access to communal facilities including bathrooms, TV lounge, recreation room (with pool table, stereo, DVD player etc), access to swimming pool, wireless broadband and more.
For the 2009/10 season, the six most experienced players will be accommodated separately at a beachside house, with private cricket nets on-site.
Most meals are included. Meals are prepared for you from Monday to Friday, with meals provided on a self-preparation basis at the weekend. All diets can be catered for. Please Note: Meals are not included during the tour to Australia, so you will need to budget accordingly for this.
