I hadn't really travelled much, or had the money or opportunity to go travelling for a long period of time, so I decided to book some short trips, enabling me to carry on working full time to pay for them.
The programme, without a doubt, was absolutely fantastic; I have no negatives at all. I was concerned that I wouldn't have the volume of interaction with the animals that I hoped for, but I discovered you have so much freedom and contact with the animals, within a safe environment.
Kirsty Blazquez, 02/08/07 - 30/08/07 There were so many amazing things that I did and am proud of myself for throwing myself into absolutely everything. If I had to name a moment it would definitely be looking after the baby baboons; taking them on walks and being climbed on all over and building a special bond with them. I built a special bond with one in particular, Donovan, who was abused by his previous owners. I spent a lot of time with him and the others but he, in particular, would always get excited when he saw me or when we had to put the nappies on them at night.
Hayley Ballard, 21/06/07 - 05/06/07 Accommodation and meals were included in the price that we paid. It was really nice - we slept in Wendy Houses which each had 3-4 beds and a small bathroom with a shower. We had a cupboard which held all our things quite comfortably, and which we could lock to protects our things from the baby baboons when we had them sleeping with us at night!
As far as practical advice is concerned, if you go during the Namibia winter, take as many warm clothes as you can because at night, and the mornings at Food Prep, it is absolutely freezing! But practicality aside, just make sure when you go you have a completely open mind and are ready to try anything once. No matter how long you go for, time soon passes so make sure you enjoy every minute of it! I had a fantastic time and am already saving to go back again next year!

Go for at least a month if possible, that way you can get the most out of your stay: Many people wanted to stay longer instead of going elsewhere or home.
If you want to work with animals and do your bit for them, this is the place to go. And if you want to find yourself lying in the grass looking at millions of stars listening to lions roar, here's where to go.

The whole trip met my expectations, as did the accommodation and food: This was much better than I had anticipated. There was not one single bad meal during the whole 4 weeks stay. I would highly recommend it.

Bottle feeding a baby baboon in a nappy, playing with a lion cub, looking after a box full of day old kittens, chasing 3 baby warthogs around the entire farm and chasing, catching, de-ticking and releasing 119 goats are just a few of my most memorable moments.
