Orientation
At the start of the programme, when you arrive for your first day at the language school, you will have a comprehensive orientation. This orientation will cover all the information that you need to know about your Experience as well as information about Cusco and Peru and essential topics such as banking and money, transport, things to do and information about the volunteering section of your programme.
Accommodation and Meals
For the first three weeks you will be staying with a local family, conveniently located for the language school and volunteer projects in Cusco. You will have your own bedroom and will be sharing bathroom facilities. During week four you will be moving around quite a lot. You will be spending two nights in a hotel in Puno and two nights with the local islanders on Lake Titicaca (Amantani and Taquile Islands).
Free Time
As you can see from your weekly schedules, the majority of your free time is in the afternoons/evenings of week one, though you will have free time in the evenings in weeks two and three after you have completed your day on the volunteer project.
In this free time we encourage you to spend your time really exploring and getting a feel for Cusco and life in Peru with your fellow volunteers. Your Peru experience schedule is pretty jam packed so it is also a great time to relax a bit and save up your energy!
Project Support
Throughout your experience you will have the support and guidance of your in-country coordinator and their team. You will be provided with competent assistance and help with any questions or advice you may need during your stay. In addition to the in-country support, you will have access to a 24 hour emergency contact number should you need to contact one of our UK staff at any time.
Project Age Limit
Minimum 18 years, maximum dependent upon individual participant’s health.
