Volunteer: Rachel Greening

How was your experience in Africa? Absolutely amazing! The location of Vic Falls was wonderful with loads to see and do on our days off.
The local people working on the lion project were all so friendly and welcoming and totally dedicated to the cause.
They were an inspiration and a pleasure to work with.

What did you think of the Project?
This was a fantastic groundbreaking carnivore reintroduction project, which I feel privileged to have been a part of. The project was really well run and organised and all the volunteers were kept busy with an interesting and varied daily work programme. There was also plenty of flexibility to ensure that volunteers were undertaking activities, which played to their strengths and particular interests.
The local guides and lion handlers were always so friendly and they made us all feel like valued members of the team. The lion cubs were utterly awesome and the training that I received to work with the lions was excellent - within a couple of days my fear had subsided and I was getting stuck
in!
I miss the people and the lions so much and I would love to return sometime in the future to check on their progress! |

Were you pleased you went with Real Gap? Thank you to Real Gap for recommending this project to me - it was the most amazing thing that I have ever done and I would love to think that sometime in the future I will do another project, if not this one again!
This has been the most awesome and memorable month of my life! Thank you Chloe and everyone at Real Gap!
