Week One
The first week of your course will be used to test your fitness, your individual skills and overall physical testing. You will be assigned to one of the local clubs used in the programme, based upon your overall performance during week one. Obviously, the fitter you are when you arrive, the more you are likely to gain from your experience.

Week Two
The second week focuses on skills development specific to your position, with assistance from some leading provincial players. They can offer advice and training tips to develop areas of your game that need improvement.

You will also spend a lot of time doing SAQ work (Speed, Agility and Quickness). This is a training system based on kinaesthetic programming, aimed at improving hand-eye coordination, multi-directional movement and speed and mobility. You basically train doing very specific exercises and movements that will lead to enhanced-overall performance. This is practised by a number of top sports teams worldwide, including the England Rugby Team prior to their world cup triumph.

Week Three

This week incorporates a 3-day training camp outside of Cape Town, in order to help with overall team building and unit skills. You will engage in a number of team building activities, such as team assault courses and other communication improvement programmes.

Week Four
Your final week will involve re-testing players in order to create an individualised programme for your personal training. The coaches will be able to identify the areas of your game that you will need to develop and other areas that you can look to use more to create an advantage in game situations. Your training focus will also look more towards team patterns and how individual skills can be used to create team advantage too.

During the four week programme, you will receive a number of seminars on subjects like defence theories (i.e. rush defence strategy, inside-out or outside-in etc), team patterns and captaincy/leadership.
