Real Gap placed me working in a resort in the most amazing part in the Freycinet National Park, Tasmania. Located right on a stunning beach, beautiful clear blue water, great for snorkelling, fishing and swimming. It's great for bushwalking too - you have the "Hazards" right next door which is where Wine Glass Bay is located, one of the top beaches in the world and deservedly so.

Sabina's Experience in Australia One of the most amazing experiences I had in the 6 months I was in Tasmania was climbing Mt. Amos for a sunrise. It was a breath taking view and so exciting climbing up this steep mountain in the dead of night - well worth the effort. We all enjoyed our picnic breakfast at the top watching the sun come up.

One of the people that climbed up with us was my Food & Beverage Manager, Vimal who is a cool guy and made my job a lot easier. The relationship between the staff in the lodge is quite close - I have worked in many bars before but never have I had so much fun as I did when I worked at the lodge.

The people in Tasmania are fantastic, not only the locals, but everyone who visits there is so incredibly friendly. I have made some close friends here. They were also really accommodating when I wanted time off to travel, and it was easy enough to do as people were always driving back and forth to Launceston and Hobart so I could catch a lift.

I spent from November to April in Tasmania and the majority of the time it was gorgeous and warm - nowhere near as cold as people say it is! The only disadvantage is that it is very remote - just one pub and shop, but the staff at the lodge always have a good time after everyone has finished work!
