Course Outline
Working in small groups, you’ll have all practical and theoretical lessons on the mountain, in preparation for your exams (detailed above). The course operates 4-5 days a week, with the weekends off for personal skiing or to join scheduled trips with other programme students.

The course has a detailed itinerary, broken into set weeks, to ensure that you complete all elements of the leadership programme. Although this needs to remain flexible according to local conditions, it should look like the following:
    Arrival – Orientation - Party
    Week 1 – Orientation with introduction to CSIA skills; Ski improvement / Team building sessions
    Week 2 - Ski improvement on all mountain terrain; navigation & weather skills
    Week 3 - CSIA Level I Instructor preparation – Demonstrations; leadership theory; "Fast Track To Parallel" progression; and communicating with children workshop
    Week 4 - CSIA Level I Instructor course – if you are successful, it will be possible to do optional work if you meet certain criteria i.e. possession of valid working visa
    Week 5 - Alpine race training; carving; ski tuning and boot balancing
    Week 6 - Avalanche Safety Training certification / Introduction to glacier travel theory / Rope rescue
    Week 7 - Wilderness First Aid course
    Week 8 - Off-piste steeps training; backcountry survival overnight and introduction to air
    Week 9 - Terrain park etiquette and freestyle skills, with trampoline sessions
    Week 10 - Backcountry alpine skills - Multi day ski tour
    Week 11 - Level II Instructor preparation
    Week 12 - CSIA Level II Instructor exams
    End of programme party – Departure
