Your Typical Itinerary
This is how a typical day in the life of a volunteer in St. Lucia might take shape! Please note that your itineraries may differ from this, depending on your own experience and the number of other volunteers on the placement at the same time. The itinerary below is simply to give you an idea:
07:30: Get up early for breakfast and get ready for your project.
08:00: Set off on the short drive to the photography area for that day. Spend the morning taking photos of the wildlife. You may focus your attention on finding different animals on different days.
12:00: You will be picked up and taken back to the volunteer house where lunch will be waiting for you.
13:30: After lunch you will start your afternoon projects. This may involve adding your new photos to the database, or you may go to a local community centre or school to help educate people about wildlife and conservation.
16:30: At the end of the working day you will be picked up from your project and taken back to the volunteer house. You can then spend time evaluating the day and discuss the schedule for the next day.
18:30: Dinner will be at the volunteer house. After dinner, you may like to go for a drink in one of the local bars with the rest of your group.
You will be given Saturday and Sunday off each week, however there is the option for you to work on Saturday morning, which generally everyone chooses to do.
School Holidays
Please note that the school holidays will affect this programme and thus we advise you to travel within the school term dates. We can advise you of these.
