This programme is ideal for those who have a passion for photography and want to travel to Africa to observe its stunning wildlife, first hand. You will have the chance to watch magnificent African wildlife in its natural habitat, as well as learning new photography techniques, so that you can capture images that will be a life long reminder of your amazing experience.

Project Age Limit
There is no upper age limit on this programme: the age range is broad.

The Volunteer Programme
The course is based in the amazing Greater Kruger National Park and to make sure you have a more rewarding and personal experience the course will be in groups of six people max. You will receive expert tuition, as a professional photographer from the UK instructs the course and has years of experience in the field. The group will also be accompanied by a fully qualified guide, who takes you out into the bush either by vehicle, or on foot and will teach you basic bush safety, tracking and animal behaviour. The course is divided between practical and theoretical sessions, so once you have acquired new photography skills you can practise them during day and evening game drives in search of the incredible Big Five.

Equipment
Professional equipment will be provided by the course Photographer for you to practise with, but you will need to bring your own cameras and other related equipment including batteries, chargers and spare film if needed.

Programme Requirements
No previous experience is required, but you will require an active and enquiring mind, while a willingness to participate and learn is essential. Please note that this course requires a minimum of 4 participants to run.

Project Support
Throughout your programme you will have the guidance and support of your guide and course leader. They will provide you with full assistance and help you with any questions you have, or advice you may need.

In addition, you will be given a 24-hour emergency contact number before you leave, so that you can get in touch with our UK staff if you need to.

Project Orientation
On your first day at the project you receive an introduction to the guide and course leader. You then have a group discussion, which includes finding out about everyone’s photographic background and finding out about what everyone wants to achieve from the course. You also discuss how to work towards creating an electronic portfolio comprising of fifteen high quality images shot during the course of the week. Also on Day One you receive a talk on bush safety and camp rules.

Accommodation and Meals
The course is located at a beautiful private bush camp within the Greater Kruger National Park. Accommodation consists of four luxury, twin bedded, en-suite tents, which are based on two people sharing. All your linen is provided. The camp has a lovely deck with sunken swimming pool and offers wonderful views of the Drakensberg mountains and surrounding bushveld. Sleeping out in the bush may be possible; therefore bringing a sleeping bag is recommended. There is also a bar where you can enjoy a relaxing drink in the evening, and which sells alcohol, soft drinks and snacks. Due to the exclusive location of the course, there are no landlines available at camp, though there is a signal for mobile phones.

All meals are included. Breakfast and lunch is on a self-service basis. Breakfast consists of fruit salad, cereals, yoghurt, toast, bacon and eggs. Lunches are normally a choice of sandwiches, soups, pasta, salad and noodles. A cooked dinner is provided in the evenings and you will experience a mixture of Traditional South African and European dishes, some of which will be cooked according to custom on a fire. Coffee, tea and fruit juice is provided with meals, and alcohol and soft drinks can be bought from the bar.
