South Africa Wildlife and Adventure Tour

Volunteer Project Details

The last 10 days of the tour will be spent volunteering at a wildlife zoological park near Oudsthoorn. The park is dedicated to the care of endangered animals and they also play an educational role in the country. Volunteering at this project is not only extremely worthwhile but also allows you to have amazing hands-on experience with the animals there including hand feeding lemurs and bottle feeding baby cats.

You will also be involved in all areas of the general running of the park. Jobs can include chopping up and preparing red meat for the big cats, general facilities maintenance and cleaning and mucking out the animal enclosures.

The zoological park opens at 8am and volunteers will be available from 7.30am, working a full day with a lunch break. You will spend days 6-14 at the project to fully enjoy the experience and provide some valuable support for the team. You will be working with very well respected animal trainers throughout your time on the project. The park is around a 15 minute walk from the accommodation in Oudsthoorn.
