Volunteer in Sri Lanka

In many ways Sri Lanka has made a remarkable recovery from the tsunami in 2004, however it has obviously had an extremely long-lasting effect and there is also still much help needed. If you volunteer you can make a valuable contribution as you travel Sri Lanka. Travellers who volunteer in Sri Lanka also greatly benefit from the experience – by working closely with local people you gain a unique and privileged insight in to everyday Sri Lankan life and culture.

If you are after a Sri Lanka volunteer programme that’s a little less demanding you could opt for a gap year teaching project, where you can teach English in a local school.

Tip...
Volunteer with orphans or coaching sports in Sri Lanka adds a fresh twist to your once-in-a-lifetime trip!
