Sri Lanka Orphanage Project
Make a real difference to disadvantaged children in an orphanage. Help the children improve their English and maths skills and therefore improve their future opportunities. The home accommodates orphans, abandoned or vulnerable boys, girls and elders.
The Volunteer Project
Volunteers can make a tremendous contribution in all departments by looking after the children as well as the elders. By helping the children improve their English and maths skills you can create more opportunities for them and make a positive impact on their lives.
Use your free time to take full advantage of the many attractions on offer. Relax on the beautiful beaches lining the coast just south of Colombo, or take a look around one of the world heritage sites, which include the cave temples of Dambulla, the Sigiriya Rock Fortress or the Royal City of Kandy.
If you prefer something more physical, you have the opportunity to go jungle trekking, mountain biking, bird watching, diving or on an elephant safari, the list is endless!
Project Location
Sri Lanka is a developing country with so much to offer. Surrounded by the India Ocean, Sri Lanka has some of the finest beaches in Asia and some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet.
You will be located in Polonnaruwa New Town in Central Sri Lanka, located about 190 km from the City of Colombo or 25km from Colombo in the town of Yackala.
Accommodation & MealsYou will be living with a local Sri Lankan family within walking distance from the orphanage. You will receive three meals a day.
