Project Location
The project is located in Recife, a city on the northeast coast of Brazil, north of Rio de Janeiro.

Recife
Recife is one of Brazil’s major cities and the capital of the Pernambuco region of the country. It is located where the Beberibe River and the Capbaribe River meet and flow into the Atlantic, earning the city the nickname ‘the Venice of Brazil’ due to its numerous waterways and bridges.

Recife is thought to be a capital of culture and as well as having the usual Brazilian party atmosphere, there are also a number of beautiful churches and historical monuments left from the Portuguese and Dutch colonial period. Recife also has a number of great beaches and sophisticated shopping.

Free Time
You are expected to work a minimum of 10 hours a week on the project, but obviously, you can work a lot more than this should you want to. You will also only be working in the afternoon, so you have the mornings to explore Recife, or go to the beach.

Weekends are also free time and present a great opportunity to explore further afield. In both directions out of the city you can find more gorgeous palm fringed beaches – and the town of Caruaru also boasts the largest market in the region.

Of course, you can just spend your weekends in Recife, relaxing, exploring and hanging out with all your new friends.

Getting There
Recife is served by Guararapes International Airport.

From Rio de Janeiro, for those doing the language school, you will need to get a short internal flight from Rio to Recife. If you are not attending the Rio language school, you can fly straight into Recife, where you will be met at the airport.
