Swaziland Savannah Conservation
Project Location The Lubombo Conservancy area, North-Eastern Swaziland.
Swaziland Swaziland is a beautiful kingdom, land-locked by South Africa and Mozambique, in the South East of Africa. With a little over 1 million people, it’s certainly one of the smaller African nations, but is equally as charming and culturally diverse as those who share its borders. Despite suffering from considerable problems with poverty and HIV/AIDS, Swaziland is considered to be one of the safest countries in Southern Africa, with an abundance of wildlife and its people demonstrating civility and peacefulness to those who are lucky enough to travel there.
Free Time You will have free time at the weekends to do as you wish and try some of the excellent activities available, at your own cost. These include white water rafting, game viewing, mountain biking, hiking, adventure caving, swimming, horse riding, golf, tennis, squash or fishing. When it is possible your coordinator will arrange long weekends and expeditions of up to 5 days for you to places such as Kruger National Park, Mozambique, St. Lucia and the Natal Drakensberg. These activities will be available to you at a special reduced rate and are dependent on volunteer numbers, at your own cost. Please talk to the your programme coordinator if you would like further information.
Getting There You will need to fly into Manzini International Airport in Swaziland, which is usually via Johannesburg in South Africa, and takes about 1 hour. Upon arrival you will be met by our project coordinator in the arrivals lounge and will then be taken to your project to begin your orientation and settle in.
