Gap Year Brochure

Africa's smallest country and one of the world's few remaining absolute monarchies, Swaziland is a wonderfully laidback country that has taken on the conservation effort in a big way. Its six national parks show off the countries geographical features and wildlife in a much more easy going fashion than its South African neighbours...

Real Gap's Swaziland Highlights

The Ezulwini Valley
The Ezulwini Valley has earned itself the names ‘the Valley of Heaven' and the ‘Royal Valley' as it is home to the State Palace of the King and his many wives. It has become Swaziland's prime tourist location after a casino was built in the lush green valley in the 1990s and has boomed ever since. The traditional capital of Swaziland is located in the valley - Lobamba, which provides a fine number of monuments and Swazi cultural relics.

Lobamba
With a population of 5,800, Lomamba is the royal and legislative capital of Swaziland. Located in the west of the country in the Ezulwini valley, this small town is home to the Queen Mother!
