Teaching Volunteer in Dominican Republic
This Dominican Republic volunteer project is an excellent opportunity to teach in one of the most beautiful tropical islands in the world. Based on the island of Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, volunteers help to teach under-privileged children at the local schools.
You should consider this Dominican Republic volunteer programme if you wish to teach English in Latin America during your gap year and want to help underprivileged children. This is not only a worthwhile volunteer project, but also a rare opportunity to work and travel the Caribbean.
Volunteer RoleVolunteers serve as support to partner a number of different local schools. Currently, our volunteer project supports a school in the rural town of Hato Mayor as well as a school in Santo Domingo. Both schools work with pre-school and primary aged children, providing an important base for children's future.
Volunteers mainly work as teacher's assistants, developing games and activities to teach reading and writing, as well as teach English language courses for young children and youth alike.
