Located on the Gold Coast of Australia, the Tennis Academy provides the perfect environment to help you develop and excel as a tennis player. With a proven programme, you will have every opportunity to become the player you want to be.

Designed by former professional tennis players to give future stars the benefit of their skills and experience, the programme is not restricted to elite players, as enthusiasts of all levels and ability are welcome to benefit from this unique tennis programme. All you need is to be prepared to work hard, as you'll be training alongside future professionals!

Gap Year Tennis Training Programme

The Tennis training Academy pays a lot of attention to detail; with an approach to tennis coaching that addresses all the pressures a player faces on and off the court. There will be a strong focus on the tactical, physical and psychological aspects of tennis, with the use of state of the art training equipment and techniques.

Arrival
On arrival, one of our coaches will work with you to assess your playing style, ability and ambitions in the sport, to set achievable goals for your time at the Academy and beyond. You will receive this "Tennis Assessment" at the start of your programme. These will be continuously appraised throughout the duration of your stay, with self-assessments at the end of every session. The main reason for this is that tennis is an individual sport, so there is a greater responsibility on the players to cope with pressure and make decisions on their own.

Your Programme
Training in a squad, you will work directly with the coach to develop a training programme that looks to perfect the strengths of your game and to develop your weaker areas. However, a large part of your programme will be to perfect the core strokes every tennis player should have in their repertoire. This will involve squad practise sessions and drills.

Your overall programme will specifically look at:
  1. Developing your own style
  2. Setting goals and annual plans
  3. Refine your stroke play by assessing your technique and how each shot is used in your style of play
  4. Increased use of match play strategies
  5. Psychology of tennis (with help from Academy's Sports Psychologist)
