Week One – Introduction to Thailand

  • Learn about Thailand, its people, culture, attitudes and customs
  • Thai lessons
  • Thai cooking lesson
  • Explanation of work projects
  • Visits to local village, monuments, and a temple
  • Have time to explore the surrounding area

Week Two – Temple Stay & Outdoor Activities

  • Visit a local temple to get an idea of what you will experience during your one-night temple stay.
  • During your temple experience, you will live with the monks and they will help you understand their religion of Buddhism, teach you how to meditate and introduce you to their way of life. Few travellers are ever offered this opportunity.
  • After you have survived the temple experience you can relax and enjoy the outdoors whilst staying at a great resort with twin room accommodation, swimming pool etc for one night.
  • You will visit a Thai pottery market and Chawak Zoo.

Week Three - Option A – Community Project
During this week you will have the opportunity to help the local community by teaching children English and Maths. You don’t require any previous experience. This week is about being as creative as possible to make learning English fun for the children, past volunteers have taught through:

  • Playing word association games
  • Drawing pictures of animals/people
  • Singing head shoulders, knees and toes
  • Learning colours, days of the week, months of the year etc

There are so many ways to teach the list is endless! If you choose to do teaching as your volunteer option in week three or in the second month of your programme, please be aware of the following school holidays:

  • Mid-end of March until mid-May
  • 12 – 17 April (Thai New Year)
  • Late Sept/early October – late Oct/early November

If you are on the programme during this time or during any examination periods you will be teaching English to the local village children rather than in a school/classroom environment.  You will teach the children at either one of the Eco Houses or an alternative camp.

Week Three – Option B  - Trekking (3 days)
For the next three days you and all other participants will go trekking in the jungle & rainforest of the Phutoei National Park. This will be a unique experience, you will be roughing it in beautiful surroundings, sleeping in tents and generally surviving with the basics whilst at the same time having a lot of fun!  The guides are very friendly and you will really enjoy yourself!

Please note: The trekking is not for the faint hearted and the itinerary is subject to change depending on seasons, weather conditions etc.

  • Monday – Depart Singburi for Phutoei National Park, pit stop to get food supplies. Arrive at about 4.30pm to set up camp and have dinner.
  • Tuesday – Trek to Taperngkee waterfall where you can swim. Then trek to a Hill tribe village where you will set up camp and spend the night.
  • Wednesday – Trek morning and afternoon
  • Thursday – Travel by truck to Lumtaphern Dam. Free time in afternoon
  • Friday – Hotel stay with real bed in Suphanburi pronvince!
  • Saturday - Travel back to Singburi

Week Three – Option C - Thai Boxing Training
Spend time training in elements of Muay Thai. Our instructor will take you through all the traditional training techniques and develop your overall skills as a Thai boxer. Whether you are an absolute beginner or have been learning this martial art for many years, you will be able to learn more about this discipline. While your training will look at different areas, a large part of Thai boxing focuses on agility, speed and balance. In order to develop each discipline of Muay Thai (i.e. punches, kicks, elbows etc), you will learn exercises and training drills that promote these 3 important things.

Week Four –Beach time and Final evaluation (6 nights)
Travel to Koh Samet Island for Beach time and relaxation

  • Free time to sun bathe
  • Boat trip / snorkelling
  • Explore the beautiful island or simply chill out in the many beach bars!
  • Fire dancing is very popular in Thailand. It is amazing to watch, so remember to take your camera.
  • Breakfast is included each day and either lunch or dinner

Please note: This four-week itinerary is subject to change depending on weather conditions, seasons etc.

You can then extend your 4-week programme by as many weeks as you like... choose one of the following options:
