The Programme
You will be required to be creative, independent and not afraid to use your own initiative. You are given a lot of freedom and flexibility to do what you see fit for the benefit of the orphans. Perhaps on your arrival you could talk to the project co-ordinator to sort out what you are going to do during the week, for example you could have one day dedicated to sports, one day to arts and crafts and so on.
Programme highlights include:
- Teaching English on a non formal basis
- Working with the children in their vegetable garden (for their own consumption)
- Creating activities for the students including workshops for cultural exchange
- Art & Handicraft activities
- Sports after classes
- Environmental awareness activities (Clean Up the World)
- Improving facilities at the Orphanage – particularly during school holidays time
What’s Included in the Programme
- Airport pickup and transfer to Singburi (as long as you have paid the extra £50/ 67.50€)
- All food and accommodation whilst in Singburi
- 24-hour support and emergency number in the UK
What’s Not Included in the Programme
- Tourist visa (you will receive 30 days on arrival, the 60-day tourist costs £28 / 38€)
- Travel insurance
- Flights
- E-mail and telephone calls
