Thailand Experience

One of our most popular trips, you’ll learn about the Thai culture, food and people on this unforgettable introduction to Thailand. Enjoy temples, markets, cooking lessons and tours and take part in a variety of volunteer projects or enjoy trekking in the hills of Sangkhlaburi. You’ll spend your last week relaxing on the beautiful island of Koh Pha Ngan. With our July offer this could be two weeks!

Thailand Community and Elephants Volunteers

Based in Tha Thum, the ‘District of Elephants’, a rural area about 1hr north of Surin, this project aims to keep the elephants in their natural settings by finding ways to ensure the keepers can earn a living from their elephants locally. Your role will be to plant crops to feed the elephants, giving them a wash down at the river and to offer support to the local communities on this exciting programme.

Thailand Teaching Volunteers

Also set in Surin, on this programme you may choose to teach English in primary or secondary schools, or teach children with special needs (depending on your qualifications). Not only will you gain valuable work experience skills and benefit the children you work with, furthermore, by living in a traditional Thai community, you will become a valued member of the local community!

Thailand Wildlife Rescue

Situated approximately 120km south of Bangkok, Phetchaburi town is both charming and historic and boasts many ancient temples. Whilst working at the rescue centre you’ll help with the day-to-day care of sick and disabled wild animals. You might assist with building enclosures for the animals or be preparing food crocodiles, big cats and even bears!

Thailand Gibbon Rehabilitation

This programme is set on the borders the stunning jungle of Phetchaburi and houses groups of gibbons that are ready for rehabilitation or to go back into the wild. You’ll be a part of this innovative and highly successful work to enrich the lives of the resident rescued gibbons. Study them, care for them on a daily basis and just enjoy watching them interact against a stunning natural background.

Thailand Community School Building and Renovation

Thai schools receive very little government funding and families in poor areas do not have the funds to support the schools which means they are often in need of restoration work. With over 1000 schools in the province of Surin there is much need for volunteer support and this is where you come in! You may be painting classrooms, renovating kitchens, or helping with gardens and play areas.
