Programme Details
During this programme, you will have the opportunity to teach English in primary schools, secondary schools, as well as teaching children with special needs (the latter two options are available on request only and you will need qualifications). Unlike schools in the Western world, there are no special classes for children with learning difficulties, so helping these children may prove a challenge at first however the rewards are clear and worthwhile.
Being involved with this programme will enable you to gain valuable skills as well as benefiting the children you work with. Furthermore, by living in a traditional Thai community, you will become a valued member of the local community.
Your time in Surin will give rural Thai children the opportunity to learn English with a native speaker. Tourism is the dominant industry in Thailand and most international companies with operations in Thailand expect a competence in both written and spoken English, so by offering your teaching assistance you are enabling the children a brighter and gainful future.
