Gap Year Brochure

  • Passports and visas - Please don't forget to ensure your travel documents are in order. If you need help, please do not hesitate to contact us. We can help you make all the necessary arrangements for you. Our 'My Online Safe' facility will help with this.

  • Travel Insurance - Again, it is very important that you arrange travel insurance before departing. Hopefully, you won't be needing it, but you can never be too cautious! Visit our Gap Year Insurance full details on the special comprehensive “year out” policy that we have arranged for all our travellers with Endsleigh Insurance.

  • Health - we have listed all the various health conditions prevalent to each country, so please ensure you are inoculated or take the necessary precautions before visiting that particular country. If you are still unsure, ask your GP or ask us!

  • Safety - Something that is an excellent idea before embarking on your trip is to do a Gap Year Safety Course. This will teach you the basics about how to handle common accidents and potential life-saving tips.

  • Equipment - Make sure you have all the equipment you need BEFORE you leave. Don't rely on getting it there. If you are going on a backpacking trip, make sure you have the right sized backpack, sleeping bag, etc. Other than essential equipment, try and pack as light as possible. You don't want to be lugging heavy equipment around.

  • Be aware! - When travelling (particularly alone), be constantly aware of your surroundings. Don't leave luggage unattended, don't flaunt your money and trust your instincts!
