The Volunteer Programme Surrounded by jungle, and with a small creek and waterfall nearby, there is much to explore and discover. In addition, you can choose to undertake PADI training for scuba diving courses with our professional team of dive instructors. You will be involved in Turtle conservation, beach care and resort maintenance for at least 4-6 hours a day as a group or individually. The currents around the island are gentle and visibility is often 20m.
The data that you collect and record will help towards protecting these eggs and their future. You will be working approximately 6 days per week – 4-6 hours per day made up of reef check training, turtle conservation and beach care. If you are on the Island for 8 weeks you will have a week off in week 5.
Project Age Limit Minimum 18 years, maximum decided on potential participants health.
Dive Courses During weeks 1-3 you will carry out your dive course and complete dives. There are conditions on the dives that can be done; these are determined by the length of stay, dive experience and your ability together with the amount of dives you have achieved to date. The Dive crew at the resort will advise on what you are able to take part in.
