This project is located in Kyotera, Southern Uganda, just 30km from the Tanzanian boarder.
Uganda Winston Churchill described Uganda as ‘The Pearl of Africa’ and to many people it is one of the continent’s most beautiful countries, with the friendliest people. The country is located where the savannah of East Africa meets the jungle of West Africa and is lush and varied. For travellers, it is a safe and extremely interesting country with sights and activities to suit everyone. You could view lions on the open plains, track chimpanzees through the rainforest, navigate the mighty Nile, visit the Murchison Falls offering some thrilling white water rafting, or explore the misty mountains in search of mountain gorillas. Uganda is renowned for its great hospitality, cultural diversity and friendly, easygoing people.
Free Time The Murchiston Falls National Park, Lake Victoria and the source of the Nile in Jinja are just a few of the local attractions that you may like to visit in your free time at weekends, or at the conclusion of your project. The project staff will be happy to help you organise excursions while you are there, so please discuss these options with them or buy a good guidebook in advance.
Being in Uganda means that you are close to the stunning African Gorillas, among other highlights, so why not combine your work placement with a tour, such as the 5-day Gorilla Trek and Lake Safari? We have a number of different tours to choose from. Please contact us to enquire about these options and we will be happy to send you further details and help you explore Africa in a safe and adventurous way.
