Project Orientation
Within a few days of your arrival you will be given an introduction to the orphanage. This project is not strictly structured so volunteers are welcome to bring their own ideas, activities and talents to the orphans.
Accommodation and Meals
You will be staying with a friendly host family in a 2 or 3-bedroom apartment with shared bathroom amenities. At least one member of the family speaks some English. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the Ukrainian culture and life style and you will become part of the community.
Your host family will provide breakfast and dinner. You can buy your lunch in a local shop or café. There are loads to choose from and it is cheap, too (about 2-3 pounds).
Weekend Travel
During your evenings and weekends you are welcome to take time to explore the local area, the capital of Kiev or just relax.
Project Support
Throughout your stay in Moldova you will have the support and guidance of our native Moldovan guides and partners. They will provide you with competent assistance and help you with any questions or advice you may need during your stay. In addition, we will provide you with a 24-hour emergency contact number before you depart, so that you can contact one of our UK staff at any time you should need to.
Project Age Limit
Minimum 18 years, maximum decided on potential participants’ health.
Project Requirements
As you will be working with children in Ukraine, you must bring a medical statement/certificate from your GP to state that you have a clean bill of health.
