UNDER 30? AUSTRALIA STILL POPULAR AS GAP DESTINATION

- Why not take a year off the recession and earn some dollars?

Australia has long been heralded as THE place to take your gap break – an easy lifestyle combined with the ability to travel and pick up casual work along the way has ensured it has stayed in the top destinations of choice.

If the recent speed-dating event run by the Adelaide Government in London aiming to attract educated English women to travel to Australia isn’t your thing, then let Real Gap, the UK’s leading gap travel provider, talks through some of the programmes available.

Kate Allan, Real Gap’s Australia Programme’s Manager explains, “Whilst Australia still continues to be one of our most popular destinations, we have noticed some variances in the types of trip people are looking for.

In today’s economic climate, many school-leavers, graduates and career breakers are considering ‘getting away from it all’ for a year and going travelling. Earning money whilst they travel reduces their financial risks considerably.

For those 30 and under, Our ‘Ultimate Aussie’ and ‘Work and Fun Down Under’ programmes still continue to be as popular as before giving the opportunity for varied casual work for backpackers. Based in Sydney, you can travel around and earn money whilst meeting lots of people.

For something a little bit different I would recommend our Outback Ranch. It’s a working holiday where you learn how to be a cowgirl/cowboy and work on ranches throughout outback Australia. It is not only a fantastic way to see the country but also a great opportunity to save some of your hard-earned cash as food and accommodation is almost always included with the job. In fact book by 1st November 2008 and you can get £90 off this programme.”
