Venezuela Community Radio Project
For this project you will be working alongside a local broadcaster who has an hourly spot, four times a week for a radio show that is dedicated to dealing with family related issues in a lively, fun, interactive and educational way.
The show is all about using your initiative and being creative, so the impact on your listeners is positive, educational and inspiring. All you need is a wealth of exciting ideas and an unbridled enthusiasm to report the issues and information that will help develop an entire community.
Volunteer RoleAs a volunteer on this project you will be getting fully involved in the radio show. Although it only broadcasts for 4 hours a week, the actual preparation for the show takes a lot of time, dedication, team effort and creative thinking. You will be working closely with the broadcaster and our project co-ordinators in preparing for the show, helping in activities such as:
- Creating/planning show topics
- Being interviewed for the show (high level of Spanish needed)/ finding people to be interviewed on air
- Conducting surveys about the impact and effectiveness of the show
- Assessing local interest/ knowledge base
- Work on show quality
- Making the show as interactive and informative as possible
- Photographing and documenting the shows progress and community activities relating to the show.
