Real Gap's Venezuela Highlights

The crystal tropical waters along the Caribbean coastline are perfect for snorkelling and diving, there are several islands off the coast to explore. The tropical lowlands home to a huge selection of wildlife, lush green vegetation and spectacular waterfalls. The  Andean peaks, provide a challenge to explorers, trekkers and mountaineers.

Santa Elena de Uairen
There are plenty of interesting walks in and around the town many routes often include waterfalls. La Colina de Yakoo (a hill) usually offers excellent views of the Roraima Chain, on a clear day.

Map of Venezuela

La Gran Sabana
The Gran Sabana is a very beautiful, remote plateau, it's covered by extensive, rolling grass savannas. It is home to the famous table mountains, Roraima and Auyantepui (site of Angel Falls, the tallest waterfall in the world, 3212 ft). There are tropical forests ssrrounding the bases of some of the table montains. The Gran Sabana occupies about half of Canaima National Park, the largest national park in the world, it's about the size of Belgium!. Canaima National Park is a World Heritage Site.

We have several projects in Venezuela all located in and aroung the La Gran Saban area, work with Venezuela Indigenous Pemon People, volunteers have the opportunity to spend time living as a community member and helping out with various projects and activities. Help protect the environment on our Venezuela Conservation and Research Project as a volunteer on this project you will be working in a beautiful setting, surrounded by wildlife including parrots, toucans, monkeys, and butterflies!

You could also take part in our projects involve helping children, Venezuela Teaching Project the teaching projects are perfect for the caring individual looking to experience the true Venezuelan culture or the Community and Youth Development Project Venezuela as a community volunteer in our centre for special needs you will be helping to teach life-skills to children.
