Name: Victoria Smith
Programme: Thailand Experience
Dates: 4th May

How did you feel before you joined the programme?
So excited, I've heard so many great things about Thailand and couldn't wait to get out there and experience it all for myself.

How did Real Gap assist you? Real Gap were extremely supportive, all my e-mail questions were answered. I was sure that I would get lost in Bangkok airport, so I spoke to Katie about it and she explained it all to me and put my mind at rest.

Katie was 100% right the airport is large but all the signs are in English and it's easy to find your way around.

What was the accommodation like?
The accommodation in Bangkok was lovely, perfect location right next to Khao San Road. Arriving in Sing-buri the house we stayed in was simple but everything you would expect from an eco-friendly house, the bar next door was very popular!

What did you think of the programme?
I enjoyed the programme, I got to experience a lot of activities I wouldn't have done if I had travelled by myself.

Staying with monks, chanting, temples, waterfall climbing, eco house... The list goes on………

Thailand Experience Trip

What was the most memorable moment of your trip?
Climbing and trekking up waterfalls was just amazing. The beach week on Koh Samet was so much fun!

A lot of sun, drinking and relaxing. Also spending my birthday on Khao San Road in Bangkok it was by far the most bizarre and best birthday I've had.

Did your project and destination meet your expectations? Any anecdotes?
I had the most amazing two months and I have so many great memories and even more fantastic photos to look back over.
Thailand was everything I expected and more.

How have you benefited from your experience?
Taking part in this programme is the one of the best things I could of done I experienced so much and met so many new people. I have caught the travel bug and cant wait to get out there again.

What advice could you offer?
I would encourage anyone thinking about this project to take part, it's a great way of meeting people, building confidence and just having the time of your life.
