Some of the most rewarding programmes Real Gap offers are our volunteer projects with children. We have various different volunteer projects with children in many countries all over the world - all of which are dedicated to providing help and support to impoverished or disadvantaged kids.
The best thing about getting involved with volunteer projects with children is that it enables you to be a responsible tourist and make a positive contribution to some of the countries you visit on your gap year. It's a sad fact of life that you'll encounter children living in poverty in many countries commonly frequented by backpackers and it's not always easy to know how best to react in such a situation - so working as a volunteer with children offers the chance to support these underprivileged children.
Real Gap's volunteer projects with children all aim to offer ongoing support to the children they're helping (so if you assist with any volunteer projects with children your efforts will make much more of a difference to the lives of the kids you're helping than the very temporary solution of giving them spare change or gifts on the street).
