Wildlife Conservation Course Kruger
Project Location The project is situated in a private game reserve on the boundary of the renowned Kruger National Park in the Lowveld of the Limpopo Province of South Africa, near the tourist town of Hoedspruit. It lies 430km north east of Pretoria and borders the stunning Drakensburg Mountains.
The game reserve itself covers 65000 hectares but with no substantial fences between the reserve and Kruger National Park, no internal fences within the reserve and no animals in camps and cages (captivity), you will be living in the centre of an open ecological system of over 2 million hectares, known as the Greater Kruger National Park. Here the indigenous flora enjoys maximum protection and the wild animals migrate freely.
This area has remained in the same state since the day of creation. It is not a human created ‘Big 5’ area and is the largest of the few remaining areas of wilderness in South Africa.
How to get to the project You will need to fly into South Africa and catch an internal flight to Hoedspruit Airport, a one-hour flight from Johannesburg, where someone will be waiting to pick you up and transfer you to the project.
