Youth Outreach Programme Buenos Aires

The centre dedicates itself to transforming the understandably negative attitude of the youth from disadvantaged areas, by providing education, job training, career advice, and economic support. The centre also acts as an affordable day-care centre for parents who struggle to work a full time job & look after their children.

The Volunteer Role

This project provides you with the opportunity to help children and teenagers in Argentina who are at risk. You will be working hand on at community centres, soup kitchens, shelters and halfway houses. Your task and schedule will vary depending on project needs at the time you are there and volunteers need to be flexible. Your role as a volunteer may include the following activities:

Organising youth educational and/or recreational activities
Playing games and sports with the children
Giving informal English lessons
Collecting donation of food, clothing and other materials
Develop/teach workshops e.g. drama, dance, songs, art, languages
Prepare and serve the children meals and snacks
Working on administrative tasks
Organise field trips

Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Accommodation and meals

There are two options for accommodation, depending on whether you choose to combine the volunteering project with the Spanish language school or simply volunteer.

For the language school and volunteering package
You will be staying with an Argentinean host family. The family will provide two meals a day, and a private room with a shared bathroom. They will speak Spanish most of the time, to help you learn the language. There will be at least one member of the family that speaks English if need be.

For the volunteering project alone
You will be staying at a hostel with breakfast included.
