Country Information
Argentina is a South-American country with a great deal to offer. It provides a truly diverse range of attractions for visitors from high culture offered by the country’s museums, architecture and rich traditional art forms, to an energetic spectrum of activities including some of the best water and snow sports to be found in the world. A land of breath-taking beauty and dramatic vistas, Argentina offers the traveller an experience like no other.
Argentina is the second largest country in South America, almost 30% of Europe’s total area. European influence is strong with around 85% of the population being of European descent, something that is reflected in the culture. Despite the strong European connections, however, the Argentinean spirit is unique and the people are proudly nationalistic.

Climate
Being in the southern hemisphere, the seasons in Argentina are the reverse to those experienced in the northern hemisphere, so in our winter months it is summer there. The country is very elongated, making the climate varied, being generally cold and glacial in the south, humid in the centre and subtropical in the north. As a guide, temperatures in the north of the country range from 20-30°C in the summer and from 5-15°C in the winter. In the south, temperatures reach between 5-15°C in the summer, and fall well below freezing in the winter months. In Buenos Aires it is somewhere in between with temperatures reaching 21°C in the Summer and going as low as 2°C in the winter.
