Zambia Football and Community Project
Project Location Livingstone, Zambia
Zambia Bordered by countries including Zimbabwe, Angola, Tanzania and Mozambique, Zambia has some of the most diverse and numerous cultures in the whole of Africa. However, alongside this diversity there are many social and health problems that have left many children orphaned and even more without fulltime places at schools, which will only perpetuate Zambia’s dire situation further.
Livingstone is a large town located close to the border with Zimbabwe, where the incredible Victoria Falls (or ‘Mosi-oa-tunya’ to the local people) separates these 2 countries. Livingstone is renowned for being the Adventure Capital of Africa, where bungee jumps, helicopter flights; microlight flights and jet boating are the norm for the backpackers that pass through here. Here, there are many needy people and major problems with HIV/AIDS.
Getting There You will need to arrange your international flights to arrive into Livingstone, Zambia. It is possible to fly with Zambia Airways to the capital Lusaka first, before connecting to Livingstone. Alternatively, you can fly to Livingstone via Johannesburg with South African Airways.
