Gap Year Zimbabwe

Gap Year Brochure

A gap year in Zimbabwe is an excellent choice for numerous reasons. If viewing African wildlife is top of your agenda a Zimbabwe travel provides some of the best wildlife viewing on the continent. Most travellers on a Zimbabwe gap year manage to see all of Africa’s ‘Big Five’ (rhino, buffalo, leopard, lion and elephant) as well as countless other animals – indeed, between them, Zimbabwe and neighbouring Botswana are home to pretty much all of southern Africa’s mammal species. One of the great things about a Zimbabwe gap year is that, because of its well maintained road network and relatively small size, it’s so easy to get out and about and do some exploring. An absolute ‘must do’ on a gap year in Zimbabwe is to spend some time at the magnificent Victoria Falls, a breath-taking 1700 metre wide waterfall. Victoria Falls is known as the adventure capital of Africa and a highlight of any gap year in Zimbabwe is white water rafting beneath it.

One of Zimbabwe's most rewarding gap year options is to volunteer abroad. Real Gap has several extremely worthwhile Zambia volunteer projects from – including a WWF endorsed black rhino conservation project.
