Ben and Harriet's Thailand Adventure- Day 4!

Hi all! It's Harriet this time, blogging from the heart of Thailand! A few days ago we started our volunteering adventure...

Wow what a day we've had today! Earlyish start around 9am. Wandered over to our new favourite local restaurant for some breakfast for me (and coffee for Ben!) I opted for noodles fried with egg and chilli flakes with lime - it was ideal, so much more fun than cornflakes!

We then met our amazing guide for the day - Mr Watts. He was a wonderfully kind 50 year old man who...

Ben and Harriet's Thailand Adventure- Day 3!

Hi, it's Ben again! Unfortunately we had to say goodbye to Bangkok on Thursday- so here's a catch up of what we got up to on the next step of our adventure...

After leaving our time in Bangkok behind us (sob...) we started to head awesome Kanchanaburi to meet some of the Thailand Experience group, the lovely lot who came out here on the 8th March. We woke up at 11am after having a very heavy night- we were both feeling the pain but we had a 3 hour journey to kick back and relax so it was all...

Ben and Harriet's Thailand Adventure- Day 2!

Hi guys! I'm currently out in Thailand with Harriet, reporting back to RG base on a day to day basis. We've done so much already!

After a great nights sleep we woke up in preparation to meet our tour guide, 'On'. He's a great guy, very chatty and spoke excellent English (better than me and Harriet, ha!). We met 'On' in the Sawasadee reception, jumped in a tuk tuk and headed off to our first stop- the Grand Palace.

It cost 500THB to get into the Grand Palace, which is actually included for...

RG's Ben and Harriet's EPIC Thailand Adventure!

Over the past few weeks a few members of the RG team have been jetting off to some of our epic locations to check out our projects and experiences. Now's the time for Ben and Harriet to conquer Thailand- they're going to be travelling around and trying all things Thai for the next two weeks so expect updates galore from the troublesome twosome!

We're receiving LIVE email updates from Ben whilst they're over in Thailand; they landed on Tuesday and they've just spent the past few days in...

Alternative Accommodation in Melbourne- Tent Style!

Hi guys, it's Soph again! I've just moved 'houses' to save a bit of cash for my up and coming travels outside of Australia, and thought I'd let you all in on where I'm staying!

For those of you who have been following the fantastic @Soph_and_Alice twitter feed, you'll know that my working visa is almost up and that my holiday is about to begin! With that in mind, I am desperate to save every last cent. So apart from the obvious costs (travel, credit, alcohol...) I knew I had to look at my...

Real Gap's South Africa Big 5!

I've just come back from a trip of a lifetime around our Real Gap South African projects, and I thought I'd start by telling you all about my first stop off- the Big 5 trip!

We flew into Port Elizabeth fairly late in the day, so as soon as we arrived we were picked up with someone showing a sign with my name on it. After the introductions we jumped into a car and started on our journey to the game reserve. It was about an hours journey, and was great to see some of the scenery along the way! Read More

Charlie's back!

Over the last two weeks, RG's Charlie's been touring around South Africa- popping his head around the door of a number of our trips!

Now he's back in the office we thought we'd show you all a few of his photos! He had a fantastic time (...and he's got a tan, lucky thing!).

Keep your eyes peeled, we're going to be updating our Facebook and Twitter feeds over the next few weeks with all of his adventures. He's also going to be writing a blog post or two of his own relaying back all of his South...

Prince Wills, The Anti Poacher!

Something that makes our blood boil here at RG Towers is animal poaching. Luckily there are high profile individuals, such as Prince William, who are prepared to jump on board and stick up for what's right.

We're real animal lovers over at RG, so once we saw Prince Wills had made this campaign video to support CITES- which is the annual meeting of the 'Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species'- we thought we'd spread the word to help raise awareness.

A number of our volunteering...

Our Top 5 Picks- New Zealand

Who fancies a good old fashioned countdown? Hi there, it's Sophie again from NZ- and today I'm going to give you guys a top five of the stunning New Zealand!

5. Christchurch

After the destructive force of the Christchurch earthquake back in 2011, the whole city is re-emerging and the sense of community spirit is clear to see. As part of the re-development plans they have built a city mall out of shipping containers, which is completely awesome! The memorial '185 chairs' dedicated to the...

RG's Charlie in South Africa!

Real Gap's Charlie's been touring around South Africa visiting a load of our projects and experience trips over the last week, and we've received some awesome snaps from him!

The photos below are all from Charlie's time on our 'Lion Cub Experience' trip, where volunteers get to experience life as a South African ranger by working on a reserve for two weeks. Not only that, but you'll get to go on game walks (where you'll get the chance to check out the big 5!), feed and care for the lions- and...
